How to get there

Car

Parking is available at the ZUM (ЗУМ) shopping centre for a fee.

The underground parking garage costs 100 RUB per hour and is located directly beneath the shopping centre. Vehicle access is from Architect Melnikov Street. The museum is a five-minute walk from the shopping centre.

Bus

Bus stop "Prospekt Likhacheva"

Bus M9 to the stop "Prospekt Likhacheva", then 10 minutes on foot: Marc Chagall Embankment → Rodchenko Street → Vesnin Brothers Boulevard, 3.
Stop "MFC Danilovsky"

Buses 766, 944, c799 to the Danilovsky MFC stop, then a 14‑minute walk: through the underpass to 7012 Projected Passage Street, then through Likhachev Avenue, turn left along Architect Melnikov Street and turn left again on Rodchenko Street to the museum cube building.

Metro

ZIL Station (Troitskaya line)

2Exit through exit 2 and you will immediately see Tyufelev Grove Park and the museum building. Walk through the park and go around the building on the right side to see three stone sculptures by artist D. Kaminker along the way. A maximum of 8 minutes on foot will take you to the museum.
ZIL MCC Station

Exit through exit 2, immediately turn right and move along Lisitsky Street along the railway tracks (you will have to pass through the construction corridor). When you reach the ZIL metro station, turn right and walk through Tyufelev Grove Park to the museum building.

Tickets for the museum's events can be purchased on the website, as well as at the ticket office and terminals located in the atrium on the ground floor. The museum does not sell tickets, season tickets and tour packages in other ways and does not grant the right to sell them to third parties.

Visiting Guidelines

Dear visitors,

We are happy to welcome you to the museum and want your visit to be as comfortable as possible. Please review the following guidelines and practical information:

Access to the museum building, including the ground floor and atrium, is free.
Tickets are required to visit exhibitions and events within the educational program.
Entry to exhibitions closes 30 minutes before the museum's closing time.
We recommend planning your visit accordingly. The optimal visit duration is approximately two hours.
On weekends and public holidays, please allow extra time due to higher visitor numbers and possible queues at the cloakroom and in exhibition halls.
For security reasons, all visitors are required to pass through security screening upon entry.
Animals are not currently permitted inside the museum.
When visiting exhibitions, events, and interactive spaces, please leave outerwear and any bulky items at the cloakroom. Lockers are also available.

How and where can I buy a ticket to the museum?

Tickets for exhibitions and educational program events can be purchased online on the museum's website or on-site at the ticket office or ticket machines. We recommend planning your visit and purchasing tickets in advance. Please note that ticket machines are only available for the same day.

What does a museum ticket include?

You can purchase tickets for each exhibition at the museum separately. You can also purchase a ticket for a one-hour guided tour of the museum and three exhibitions. Please note that Grisha Bruskin's exhibition "Dies Illa / That Day" is limited to 30 people at a time due to the installation's specific features. Please be understanding about any possible wait. Visits last no more than 30 minutes, and tickets to the exhibition are sold by session. Tickets for educational program events are purchased separately.

I am coming by car, can I park next to the museum?

The museum does not have its own parking facilities. You may park on nearby streets where parking is permitted under traffic regulations. Please note that on weekends and public holidays, available parking near the museum may be limited. We recommend planning your route and parking options in advance. You may also use the paid underground parking at the ZUM (ЗУМ) shopping centre, located across the street from the museum. The parking fee is 100 RUB per hour. Vehicle access is from Architect Melnikov Street. The walk from the shopping centre to the museum takes approximately five minutes.

Is there a bike parking next to the Museum?

Bicycle parking is available on nearby streets and near the ZUM shopping centre.

I am coming by public transport, what is the best way to get there?

The closest metro station is ZIL on the Troitskaya Line, which is no more than an eight-minute walk from the museum. From Avtozavodskaya metro station, you can reach the museum by buses 766, 944, or C799. From Tulskaya metro station, buses M9 and 944 are available. From Bolotnaya Square, you can take bus M9.

Is there a cloakroom at the museum?

Yes. A visitor cloakroom is located on the ground floor of the museum. Free storage lockers are also available for personal belongings. The lockers are secured using a plastic card, which can be obtained from a cloakroom staff member.

Where can I have coffee or a meal at the museum?

The museum is home to the restaurant Remy Kitchen Bakery, where visitors can enjoy coffee, meals, and desserts. The menu also includes a special dessert created in the shape of the museum building.

Do I need a ticket to access Museum's merch shop or the restaurant?

No, you can access those areas without a ticket.

Do you have a Lost & Found section at the Museum?

All lost belongings are passed to the administrators, please ask them for assistance.

Is there a Wi-Fi network available in the Museum?

You may use our free Wi-Fi service in the Museum. Authorization through your phone number is required in order to use the service.

Is the museum accessible for visitors with disabilities or mobility problems?

Yes. The museum is equipped to ensure a comfortable visit for people with disabilities. Museum staff are always available to provide assistance when needed.

What does the museum offer for visitors with children?

The museum features a dedicated interactive space called Dream of the City, where both children and adults can play and explore an imaginative, surreal environment. A large part of the museum’s educational program is aimed at children. You can find information about upcoming activities in the Events section.

Can visitors come to the museum with a stroller?

Strollers are allowed in the atrium and on the ground-floor public areas. Before entering the exhibition galleries, please leave strollers at the cloakroom. When visiting the exhibition halls, parents with children up to and including the age of three may use a lightweight umbrella stroller or a portable car seat carrier. The permitted stroller dimensions are 30 × 55 × 40 cm when folded and 106 × 40 × 65 cm when unfolded. Due to limited space, the museum reserves the right to restrict stroller access in certain areas of the exhibitions. Visitors may also use a museum-provided stroller. To request a stroller for temporary use, please contact the administrator at the museum information desk on the day of your visit. After visiting the exhibitions, please return the stroller to the cloakroom.

Are there facilities for feeding children at the museum?

Yes. The museum has dedicated feeding rooms for parents with young children. They are located behind the museum shop, close to the interactive space and the workshop area.

Is an audio guide available for the exhibitions, and how much does it cost?

Yes. Audio guides are available for the museum’s exhibitions. To access them, please scan the QR code at the information desk. Audio guides are free of charge. We kindly ask visitors to use their own headphones so as not to disturb others.

Is photography and video recording allowed at the museum?

Photography and Video Rules at ZILART Museum
Amateur photography and video recording are permitted throughout ZILART Museum, except in areas where photography and filming are specifically prohibited.
All photography and filming must be carried out in a way that does not pose a risk to the artworks or interfere with other visitors. Please pay attention to posted notices and follow the instructions of museum administrators, gallery attendants, and security staff.

What is permitted:

Taking photos and videos on a smartphone or camera for personal, non-commercial use
Photographing and filming artworks in the exhibitions Step Off the Pedestal: Sculpture in Real Space (2nd and 3rd floors) and African Art: Gods, Ancestors, Life (4th floor)
Photographing and filming in the atrium and in areas outside the exhibition galleries

What is not permitted:

Photographing or filming at Grisha Bruskin's exhibition Dies Illa on the 5th floor
Using flash photography or any additional light sources, including flashes on smartphones and cameras. This disturbs other visitors and disrupts the exhibition lighting, which is designed to work well for photography without flash.
Conducting professional photo, video, or film shoots, or recording reports using audio or video equipment without prior permission from the museum
Bringing into the museum or using professional equipment without approval, including tripods, monopods or selfie sticks, studio lights, reflectors, ring lights, steadicams, gyroscopic stabilizers, action cameras, camcorders, lavalier or on-camera microphones, and other professional gear
Bringing into the museum or using dashcams, drones, quadcopters, or any type of unmanned aerial vehicles
Organizing staged photo shoots or filming sessions involving models, posing, or props
Photographing or filming visitors or museum staff without their consent

Professional and Commercial Photography:

To arrange professional or commercial photography or filming that involves special equipment, models, or props, please submit a request in advance with a detailed description of the shoot to the museum's PR department at pr@zilartmuseum.ru.

Please note that professional and commercial shoots may only take place on Mondays, when the museum is closed to visitors.

The museum administration reserves the right to refuse permission for filming or photography on museum premises without providing a reason.
